Tacoma Defiance, the developmental side of Seattle Sounders FC, officially signed midfielder Omar Hassan for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season in January. The 15-year-old signed after an impressive campaign for Sounders FC U15 side and has already begun to impress.
While still in preseason, Hassan showed off his composure and ability in front of goal with an audacious strike.

Hassan, 15, was called up to play for Tacoma Defiance last season and impressed during his two-game spell, scoring in his debut against Minnesota United 2. In the process, he became the youngest player to do so for the Tacoma Defiance.
The midfielder was also elected as the 2024 Vlatko Markovic Tournament MVP after his time with the U.S. U15 youth national team.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR DEFIANCE?
Hassan was signed as the Defiance continues to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season. He’s part of a trio of new additions to the squad as Tacoma gears up for their fourth season in the league. The Seattle Sounders' development squad kick off their 2025 MLS NEXT Pro against Ventura County on March 7.
